Dripping Paint Mani

Hiya Lovelies

Hope everyone has had a fab week! The weekend is just around the corner and we’re so looking forward to it. What plans have you got this weekend? We hope ya’ll be getting creative with those fingertips and paint some funky mani’s. Firstly we’d just like to let everyone know that we’ve now made it easier for you to head over to our Etsy store by adding an Etsy badge, as you can see on the right, which if you click on it will take you straight there. Secondly, we’d like to thank everyone for helping us reach over 500 followers!! And as a token of our appreciation we are currently doing a giveaway over on Instagram so don’t forget to check that out and take as part as you’ll be in for chance of winning some special goodies.

Now back to nail art. Today’s Mani features a design we did a few days ago. Its something different to what we usually do but we have seen so many different versions of it so we decided to recreate it ourselves and add a NailGal funky twist. There are a few techniques in creating this Dripping design. We chose to use a dotting tool but it can easily be done using a tooth pick or anything else that you may find that could be suitable. You can also use any colours you like and as many as you want as it is quite versatile. We decided to go for this gorgeous pink shade from the Models Own Collection, Silver Sterling from their metallic collection and a black varnish as a border to add that cool cartoon effect. The Mani itself is rather simple and easy to achieve and anyone of any nail art skill level can do it. pink dripping mani

Ruffian Mani and How to

Hello lovelies,

Hope everyone had a great week and are having a fab weekend so far! We’ve had a fun and busy Saturday creating some new nail sets for you beauties. New Year new Nails! They are now available for purchase at our Etsy Store so why not head over to our site and treat your fingers to some pweety talons!

Today’s Nail art we’d like to share with you is this simple design which everyone has called Ruffian/Ruffian inspired or French/Half Moon Mani. We’ve seen so many different versions of this design and although it has been around for a few years now we still love it!! It is like a new and improved French Mani with a funky twist and NailGals are all about the funky twists!

There are also different techniques on creating this design. Some people find it easier to use french tip guides or sticks to create the curve however we personally don’t like using them as they can be quite fiddly and messy. We just apply the polish like you would for a normal manicure but just start a little further down from the cuticles.  Here we have some pictures showing you how to do it this way.

We hope you like it and enjoy doing it yourself. You can experiment using any 2 colours or try a gloss and matte coat. It might take a few times to get a hang of this technique but practice makes perfect. You can even be imaginative and paint a unique design on the ruffian bit. The possibilities are endless!

Quatrefoil inspired Mani

Hiya lovelies

Hope everyone had a great weekend getting creative with those nails! Today we have this lovely Quatrefoil design which seems to be a very popular pattern at the moment and can be found on clothes and home decor. I have seen many wonderful nail design versions of this and so we thought to do one ourselves. It is easier than it looks to achieve it and we’re very proud how ours has turned out. All you need is a dotting tool or anything similar, use any colour s you want and voila you got yourselves a pretty and trendy manicure. We do recommend to use two colours that contrast in order for the pattern to stand out more.

At first I didn’t know which colours to use so decided to just pick out two randomly blindfolded haha

The varnishes used are both from the Barry M Nail Paint collection. We hope you like it!

There are so many different ways to create this look and we’ll definitely be trying it out again. Go on give it a go! If you do and you’re on Instagram or Twitter then tag us and we’ll give you a shout out! We’d love to see your recreations.

The varnish used was Revlon’s Parfumerie – ‘Beachy’ Love this scented collection. The formula is great!- If don’t have one already than it is definitely needed!

This design is a great way to revamp any look and even play up the simplest/casual outfits.

We hope you like it! What Mani’s are you sporting today?

Hi everyone

Todays post is something different. We would like to share with you our annual blog report. Although we only set up our new blog site a few months ago we are still pretty proud with the results/feedback so far. Thank you so much to everyone that has helped this happen!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 390 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 7 trips to carry that many people.

Inspired Abstract Water Colour Mani

Hello everyone!

Happy Boxing day! Have any of you attempted to brave the Boxing day sales?! We decided to as I really wanted to use my vouchers but its absolute manic! We hope everyone had a great day yesterday filled with lots of food drink and laughter and we hope you got what you wanted. And we hope you all sported those cute and funky festive nails! We’re now super excited about creating those NYE party nails. Stay tuned as we will be sharing our sparkly party creations with you! However today’s creations features this lovely abstract design inspired by this streaky water colour print which we came across and thought would make a great funky nail design and we’re so pleased how they turned out.

abstract watercolours

We’re so please on how it turned out. We’ve done this design a few times before but as the colours in the print are much more bolder and brighter we decided to mix less water with the varnish. We realised this was the trick. We tend to use more than we should thus creating a more pastely ( I think I just made that word up) shades.

Anyways we hope you like it! It was real fun painting it!

Easy and Simple Lazy Girl Mani’s

Hi Lovelies

Do any of you lovely ladies ever spot other girls nail designs and think wow wonder how she did them? Well we do all the time! It’s one of our inspirations. You probably also think what tools she used to create those detailed and intricate patterns? Well the nail art we have created and sharing with you today are just some examples of what can be achieved without using dotting tools or special nail art brushes. They are also perfect for those of you who just don’t have enough time to be getting creative and imaginative or are too busy rushing around preparing for Christmas however still want to be rocking those funky and chick nails.

One stripe Mani

This design came to mind as I was in a quick rush to go out and run errands and I had this lovely Barry M Pink varnish and the Models Own black nail art pen to hand and did this under 5 minutes. You can use any colours as the base for this.

Messy brush stroke

We love this design so much as you can use any colour combos you want and all you need is the varnish brushes themselves and you don’t have to conscious about how much time you got as you this doesn’t require to be neat or perfect. The messiness adds to the effect.

White thick stripe on a dark base colour

Add a white or any brighter colour to accent the darker base colour. This adds a funky contrast.

French Mani with a simple twist

An easy and simple french mani. Just add a black thin boarder on the tips. Or if you prefer a thicker boarder that can work too.

Chevron Accent nail Mani

Why not go for a zig zag design on the accent nail and one colour of your choice on the others. If you have them to  hand you can either use chevron stickers or freehand the zig zag pattern with a nail art pen.

Cute Dotticure

Again with this look you can choose any colour. If you are a beginner and don’t have dotting tools to create those dots then you can use anything that has a round end such as a hair pin.

Sideways French Mani

Another french Mani with a twist. A sideways French Mani. My favorite of them all. So chic and perfect finish for any casual outfit

So we hope you like them as much as we enjoyed creating them. If any of you are feeling that extra extra lazy you could just do these designs on the accent nail and just rock that look. It will still look effective and chic! However NailGals are always here to help. For booking inquiries drop us an email on nailgals@yahoo.co.uk after all we’re here to put the fun into those funky nails!
